How To control the Modem Speaker Volume
Step1
Click on Start, then Control Panel, and click on Phone and Modem Options. Select the Modems tab. Select the modem, and click Properties.
Step2
Click on the Advanced tab. Type in one of the options from the table below to the initialization string, and click OK. Close.
| L0 Selects the lowest speaker volume |
| L1 Selects a low speaker volume |
| L2 Selects medium speaker volume |
| L3 Selects high speaker volume |
| M0 Disables the speaker so that it's always on |
| M1 Enables the speaker when the modem is establishing a call, but disables the speaker after the modem detects the carrier |
| M2 Enables the speaker so that it's always on |
