How To use the Error-checking tool to Detecting and Repairing Disk errors

Step 1

Open My Computer, and then select the local disk you want to check and right click it then click on Properties.

Step 2

Click on Tools tab, under Error-checking, click Check Now.

Step 3

Under Check disk options, select both Automatically fix system errors and Scan or and attempt recovery of bad sectors check box. Then click Start.
